How to get in touch:

8. What org does 2.png

The Dexx Life Skills Centre is committed to empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Operating out of our commercial business, the Dexx Family Activity Centre, we provide tailored work and life skills training along with a variety of volunteering and work experience opportunities, with the potential for paid employment when participants are ready.

Taking a person-centred approach, we recognise that every individual’s journey is unique. Development plans are carefully tailored to each person’s learning goals, abilities, and aspirations. By integrating training within our real-world business environment, participants can explore a range of roles and identify areas of work that genuinely interest them. For example, those drawn to catering can gain hands-on experience in our café, while individuals who enjoy sports may support event marshalling or help run activity sessions. Others may develop customer service skills by welcoming and signing in visitors at our reception desk. These are just a few examples. Additional opportunities span administration, maintenance, marketing, events management, digital design, cleaning, and more.

Beyond work experience, we place strong emphasis on education, health, and social inclusion as key pillars of personal development. During non-public hours, we deliver group lessons, support participants in working toward relevant qualifications, assist with job searching, and offer guidance in managing personal affairs. We also provide social sessions using our on-site facilities and organise regular outings, creating opportunities for participants to build friendships, stay active, and enjoy new experiences.

Who can access our support:
